January 23 - April 23, 2021

In early 2020 as news of COVID-19 cases in China and Italy became increasingly more dire and US cases were on steadily on the rise, I was fortunate to have the opportunity to take part in an intensive virtual workshop being given by my friend, mentor and acclaimed artist Louise Freshman Brown. As stay-at-home orders were being implemented nationwide, the workshop gave me and the other participants an ongoing opportunity to work through and express our anxieties and perceptions about the pandemic through our artwork. Having the opportunity to meet with the group weekly via Zoom to get feedback from Louise and to discuss how the pandemic affected us and our artistic expression enabled me to process the rapidly changing information surrounding COVID-19 and the completely changed world we were all now living in. 

This series explores how the COVID-19 pandemic has interrupted, fractured and changed the spaces we inhabit, both internally and externally as we navigate this new reality.
